DR. SHELBY LEVINE

Dr. Shelby Levine received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from McGill University. Her doctoral internships were completed in the Eating Disorders Continuum at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and in Psychosocial Oncology & Palliative Care Program at the McGill University Health Centre. Dr. Levine has received additional training at the Emotional Health CBT clinic in Montreal, the McGill University Student Wellness Hub, and in the English Montreal School Board. Dr. Levine has published in several academic journals on perfectionism and motivation and has co-authored a book chapter in the Self-Determination Theory Handbook.

Dr. Levine joined the Firestone CBT Clinic to pursue her passion in treating adults and adolescents with eating disorders, health-related concerns, mood, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Levine has a keen interest in helping individuals become more self-compassionate as they pursue their personal goals. Dr. Levine’s therapeutic approach incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and is a client-centered approach aimed at helping individuals work towards growth and change in a compassionate manner. In her spare time, Dr. Levine enjoys spending time with her family and friends, baking, reading and painting.
